As a product reviewer, I've consistently found the guys at Agnitum to take their work very seriously. This article demonstrates perfectly that Agnitum are proactive and really do care about users' security in the online jungle. Do you know another company that does all this?

re: myth #4.Questions:
how does the malware get on the victims machine from the compromised website? Does it exploit a vulnerability in the browser or a web application of the victim? what if you are fully "updated"? It must download and execute to install to a machine, how is it doing this without the users knowledge?

You've provided some excellent risk analysis, but what would be most important to me is solutions to the problems you've identified. How can I find these solutions (eg. botnets) or do you have articles that cover the solutions? Or, if no articles exist, could I suggest that you publish an article that shows us how to protect ourselves from the risks you outline in each of the myths.

I find articles like this one to be extremely beneficial and useful. There are security issues that we all constantly need to be reminded of. It is such a shame that more internet security companies don't adapt this type of policy which most certainly contributes in no small way to securing all internet and computer users. Thank you for this very valuable article.
